Program in Biological Sciences Summer Grants

Program in Biological Sciences Summer Grants

About

PBS Summer Grants enable undergraduate Biological Sciences majors the opportunity to engage in full-time biological research over the summer.  Minimum qualifications are: i) declared Biological Sciences major; ii) letter of support from head of the sponsoring laboratory; iii) past or planned participation in the 399 “independent study” program; iv) applicant must be returning as a full-time undergraduate in the following fall or winter term.  Successful applicants are awarded $3,500 to cover living expenses over the summer.  Applications are limited to those students who have already submitted a research proposal to the Undergraduate Research Grants Committee and have received notification that the URGC will not fund the proposal.  As the number of PBS Summer Grants is limited, preference is given to students proposing to undertake research in PBS-affiliated laboratories.
