Lane Environmental Studies Grants provide funding for research on environmental issues. Lane Awards may be made in the form of a WCAS Academic Year Grant or a WCAS Summer Grant. Application for a Lane Award is made by applying for one of these two types of WCAS Grants and indicating in the application that one wishes to be considered for a Lane Grant. Lane funds are limited; research focusing on environmental issues may also be funded through a regular WCAS Grant (Academic Year or Summer).

Awards are made for up to $1000 to assist Weinberg undergraduates in pursuing original research or creative work under the close supervision of a faculty member during the academic year. Grants can help cover the costs of consumable supplies (but not lab equipment or facilities costs), data collection, travel, and other expenses directly related to the research or creative project. Applicants must typically apply for a URG Academic Year Grant first.
